Dermamelan / Cosmelan
What is it
- COSMELAN® / DERMAMELAN® is a therapy for reducing pigmentation problems that arise from excessive exposure to the sun, discoloration with hormones or melasma.
- COSMELAN® allows you to effectively get rid of pigmented spots, hormonal (melasma, chloasma) and sunspots, and restores the skin's smoothness and healthy appearance. The therapy is individually adjusted to the needs and phototype of the patient's skin.
- DERMAMELAN® contains a higher content of active ingredients than Cosmelan and additionally salicylic acid, which results in a better effect on seborrhoeic skin, with less severity of side effects such as redness, burning or flaking.
Indications
Removal of sun and hormonal discoloration, equalization of skin tone, treatment of inflammation and excessive serum secretion, elimination of superficial wrinkles, elimination of enlarged skin pores.
How it works
The mechanism of action is based on the use of substances that inhibit the formation of a pigment (melanin) responsible for the formation of stains and discoloration.
Procedure
The treatment is performed after a medical consultation, where the skin phototype is determined and the types of discoloration are determined. The procedure itself, i.e. the application of a mask along with a medical consultation, takes about 15-30 minutes. The main part of the treatment is the application of the mask on the skin by the doctor, with the preparation applied in this way, the patient goes home, where after a period of 6-10 hours, the mask is washed off with water. Then the patient uses the COSMELAN 2 / DERMAMELAN 2 cream for several months after the treatment, according to the scheme selected by the doctor. 14 days after the procedure, a consultation should be appointed, after which the doctor assesses the results of the treatment and provides further instructions for using the cream.
The patient may experience itching immediately after wearing the COSMELAN® / DERMAMELAN® mask.
Effects
Brightening and elimination of discoloration, evening out of skin tone, strong skin hydration, regulation of sebum secretion, narrowing of skin pores, anti-wrinkle effect, prevention of blackheads, inflammation and seborrhea. The first effects are visible after a week, but the visible effect is most often noticed after at least 1 month. Among most people, a completely permanent effect should be expected, bearing in mind that the therapy does not eliminate the tendency to hyperpigmentation, but only stops it.
Recommendations after treatment
It is necessary to use sun protection in the form of a cream with the UV50 factor as a prophylaxis. COSMELAN® / DERMAMELAN® is a one-time treatment and the entire therapy lasts at least 3 months. However, it should be remembered that the therapy effectively inhibits and disperses the accumulation of melanin in the epidermis, but we do not prevent the formation of new discoloration. The treatment can be repeated if the discoloration reoccurs.
Side Effects
During therapy, there is moderate flaking and slight reddening of the skin. The treatment is completely painless, and during the treatment you may only feel a slight tingling and burning sensation. There may be a slight swelling.
In the first 10 days after the treatment, the following may occur: intense redness, peeling of the skin, increased tension, cracking of the skin in poorly moisturized areas, itching, swelling - DO NOT SCRATCH THE SKIN, because that may damage it.
Contraindications
Fresh tan, active acne, depilation, peels, use of Vit A derivatives, pregnancy, breastfeeding, herpes, keloids.
The COSMELAN® / DERMAMELAN® treatment does not require prior preparation.
