Cryotherapy

What is it

Cryotherapy is called cold treatment with the use of liquid nitrogen and consists in lowering the temperature of the tissues in order to remove the lesion. In the treatment of skin lesions, temperatures from -15 ° C to -130 ° C are used. There are two types of treatments - local and general treatment. Cryotherapy is also used in: rheumatology, orthopedics, neurology, treatment of burns and phlebitis, reduction of muscle tone, reduction of swelling and pain relief.

Indications

Benign and malignant skin lesions; flat and viral warts and verruca, fibroids, basalioma, changes on the mucous membranes, discoloration of the so-called age spots.

The course of the procedure

Recommendations after procedure

At the place of application of the treatment, a scab is formed, after a dozen or so days, after the scab has fallen off, the pinkish area can be smeared with the recommended cream in order to accelerate the healing process. In the case of wart removal, a follow-up visit is recommended, as more than one procedure may be required to obtain a complete cure.

Side Effects

When removing larger lesions, scars may form.

Contraindications

Severe heart and circulatory system diseases, general infections, history of peripheral arterial blockage, deep vein inflammation.
