Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion

What is it

Microdermabrasion with the use of aluminum oxide crystals (corundum), thanks to modern equipment, allows you to perform a precise and effective exfoliation treatment (dermasanding) or the epidermis and upper layers of the dermis (dermabrasion), to the desired level. Corundum is a safe substance with exceptional abrasion ability, not absorbed by the skin.

Indications

Seborrhea, discoloration, shallow wrinkles, stretch marks (in combination with chemical peels), acne scars and burn scars, to improve the condition of the skin, including capillaries.

How it works

The mechanism of action is based on the mechanical abrasion of the skin at a controlled level while sucking back the stream of microcrystals along with the removed tissues.

Procedure

The stream of corundum crystals with appropriately selected pressure is used, in order to abrade off dead skin cells. The handle equipped with a disposable cap allows to control the pressure and the contact time of the cap with the skin area. The final effect of the treatment depends on: suction power, speed of movement of the cap and the number of movements of the cap in the same area. The device works as a compressor and absorber, and the entire mechanism allows for operation in conditions of high hygiene and sterility. The procedure takes 20-60 minutes. After the treatment, the doctor puts on a hydrating and regenerating mask.

Effects

Increasing skin tension, smoothing wrinkles. The treatment acts on the skin as a kind of lifting, tightening and firming. It reduces fine lines and scars and improves skin tone, reducing discoloration. It reduces unevenness in the surface layer. The skin becomes smoother, regains a fresh look as a result of the stimulation of collagen synthesis. The production of sebum is visibly reduced, and the sebaceous glands are significantly narrowed.

Is microdermabrasion painful

Thanks to modern equipment and a correctly performed procedure, the procedure does not require local anesthesia.

How often is the procedure performed

In order to achieve the optimal effect, it is recommended to perform 3 treatments at intervals of 2-3 weeks.

Recommendations after treatment

You should not apply makeup. Keep at least a 2-week interval between the next aesthetic or cosmetic procedure. It is strictly forbidden to sunbathe (sun, solarium) for a period of at least 1 month, as this may lead to discoloration. The basic rule in counteracting discoloration is the use of protective creams with high sunscreen (UV30,40,50). Remember to moisturize the skin - drinking min. 2 liters of fluids daily and the use of hydrating creams.

Side Effects

It is a safe procedure with a very low percentage of side effects, which include discoloration and erythema. They are caused by the lack of sunscreen. In addition, immediately after the treatment there is a burning, warmth and "tightening" sensation of the skin, which gradually passes away.

Contraindications

Pregnancy, herpes skin infections, purulent inflammatory changes. Recurrent streptococcal infections (angina, rheumatism). In addition, severe cardiac arrhythmias, epilepsy, porphyria and taking medications that inhibit liver metabolism.
