Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic Acid

What is it

It is a natural substance found in our body, among others in the skin, eyes and cartilage. One of its most important properties is the ability to bind water in the body. As a result, it provides adequate hydration, gives skin firmness and elasticity. Its concentration in tissues decreases with age. It is a non-surgical, safe and effective method of filling wrinkles and lip augmentation as well as modeling the face and body area.

Indications

  • Volumetry, i.e. restoring volume and correcting asymmetry and improving facial contours.
  • Removing wrinkles and filling furrows around: face, neck, cleavage, hands, elbows, knees.
  • Filling scars
  • Lip shape correction
  • Nose shape correction
  • Earlobes shape correction

How it works

When applied to a free space (furrow), it absorbs water, and therefore has very strong moisturizing and filling properties. By affecting skin cells, hyaluronic acid stimulates the production of our own hyaluronan, collagen and elastin, which improves the condition of the skin and prevents it from aging and causes its better nourishment.

Procedure

The treatment consists in administering the preparation in the form of injection. Depending on the needs, the preparation is administered by means of single punctures with a short needle or using a special long needle "cannula", then there are fewer punctures. It lasts from 20 to 30 minutes. The effect is visible immediately after the treatment and increases gradually, which is related to the binding of water by hyaluronic acid. The final result is achieved after 10-14 days.

Effects

The skin is filled, furrows and wrinkles are smoothed, the skin looks more elastic and more moisturized. The rejuvenation effect endures depending on the application used, from about 8 months to even 2 years. The effect also depends on: age, skin state and condition, lifestyle and general health. It is also very important to determine the injection sites correctly and accurately by the doctor and complete the filling, as well as the selection and choice.

Recommendations after injection

Directly after injection, for 12 hours after the procedure, it should not be heated (sun, solarium) or strongly cooled in the area of the face, it can be decomposed, and thus reduce the effects. Makeup should also be avoided not to increase the risk of infection from punctures. Do not apply pressure to the puncture sites. Avoid strenuous exercise. Maintain a period of at least 2 weeks between the aesthetic or cosmetic inspection (including massage).

Can other treatments be used additionally

Microdermabrasion, laser therapy, botulinum toxin and peels are not a contraindication for hyaluronic acid fillings. On the contrary, complex therapy is often used for the best effect. You should choose the appropriate time interval between treatments - about 2 weeks. Mesotherapy can be performed simultaneously.

Side Effects

Puncture marks after 1-2 hours are almost invisible, although the possibility of a bruise can never be ruled out. Very rare reactions at the site of application have been reported. Most of them are symptoms of medium severity, most often it is pain and slight swelling at the injection site. There may be swell or lumps at the injection site. These ailments are temporary and short-lived. The reason for their occurrence is individual sensitivity to the preparation.
