Dark Circles Under the Eyes
What is it
The effect of deepened, dark skin on the lower eyelid. The skin in this area is especially thin and sensitive because of the superficial vascularity and the small number of sebaceous glands.
The loss of volume primarily affects the mid-face area, temples and eyes. There is a deepening of the tear valley, so-called swelling "bags”. The causes of dark circles under the eyes also include genetic predisposition, a small amount of adipose tissue and the showing of small vessels. Additional factors include lifestyle, sleep deprivation and diseases of the kidneys, thyroid, liver, and allergies.
Appropriately selected treatments will restore smoothness, tension and radiance to the skin around the eyes.
