Jaw Shape Loss

Jaw Shape Loss

The reasons

Over time, the appearance and properties of our skin change. Many factors influence the formation of wrinkles and the change of the jaw contours.

With age, atrophic processes within its layers begin to dominate the skin. The skin becomes sagging and dry. The production of collagen, elastin, hyaluronic acid and lipids, the basic substances responsible for proper hydration, elasticity and firmness of the skin, decrease. Physiological "fat pads" disappear and fat cells are displaced under the influence of changes in the skin structure and gravity. The so-called youth triangle gets reversed.

We most often observe the loss of the mandible contour after the age of 40, but it may happen earlier with fluctuations in body weight or the tendency to develop the so-called "hamsters", that is, drooping cheeks near the lower jaw. In addition, there is activity of the facial muscles (mainly the muscles lowering the corners of the mouth), also, the above-described loss of volume and "drooping" of the cheeks, atrophy and remodeling in the bones of the skull, and excessive activity of the masseter muscles (bruxism).

The correction of this are must be approached comprehensively. The treatments, due to their low invasiveness, are commonly called "facelift without a scalpel" due to their high efficiency without the need for surgical intervention, they restore the contours and model the jaw line.
